Probate Notes:

The Court Investigator reports that the Conservatee passed away in February of 2025.  A conservatorship of the person is terminated by operation of law on the death of the conservatee. (Prob. Code, § 1860.)  However, the Court maintains jurisdiction over the conservatorship of the estate until the estate is delivered to the personal representative of the conservatee’s estate.  (Prob. Code, §2467.)  A final accounting is now due. (Prob. Code, § 2620(b).)

The final accounting of the conservatorship estate is set for hearing on:

January 21, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. in Department 1 at the court address above.

The period of the accounting shall be from September 21, 2024 to February 9, 2025, and shall include a separate “stub accounting” from the date of death (Feb. 9, 2025) to the date the conservatorship estate is delivered to the personal representative of the conservatee’s probate estate.  The accountings must comply with Probate Code section 2620, subdivisions (b) and (c).
