Fraud Alert: Scam Text Messages Claiming DMV Penalties -

We have been made aware of fraudulent text messages being sent to individuals claiming to be from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or the court system. These messages often state that the recipient owes penalties or fees related to traffic violations or DMV infractions and may include a link or phone number to resolve the matter.

Take these steps to reduce the chances of falling victim to a text message scam:

  • Never respond to unsolicited or suspicious texts — If you receive a message asking for personal or financial information, do not reply.
  • Verify the source — If you are unsure, always contact the DMV through official channels.

Hearing Date / Time

Mon, 05/20/2024 - 08:30

Nature of Proceedings

Status Hearing

Probate Notes:

Appearances required.

This matter is on calendar for a status update.  According to the Court’s register of action, the following are issues that must be addressed:

Proposed Order for Probate and Letters.  On May 24, 2023, this Court approved the resignation of Laura Colgate as Personal Representative, and appointed Reginald Pagaling as the successor Personal Representative.  Since that date ONE YEAR AGO, there have been zero submitted proposed orders and letters submitted to effectuate Mr. Pagaling’s appointment. A personal representative is not effectively appointed until Letters are issued.

Proposed Order re: Payment of Laura Colgate.  On January 18, 2024, this Court made findings and orders re: the evidentiary hearing on an accounting by Laura Colgate as the former Personal Representative.  There appears to be an ongoing debate as to the Order After Hearing contents.

Discovery Disputes/Sanctions.  Parties must come prepared to discuss status of ongoing discovery, if any, and status of payment of previously ordered sanctions.
