Jury Scam alert -

The Santa Barbara Superior Court has received complaints about individuals trying to scam members of the public by pretending to be court officers or officials. The Jury Services office of the Santa Barbara Superior Court does not call citizens to request payments for failing to appear for jury duty. California law does not permit citizens to pay a fine in lieu of jury duty. If you receive such a call simply hang up and, if the scammer persists, call your local law enforcement agency. Prospective jurors summoned for jury service can expect to receive their jury summons in postcard form. Please check your mail for a postcard with important instructions to fulfil your jury service. Visit the Jury Services page for more information.

Appearances are required.

Court records show that an Accounting is due (See Prob. Code, § 2620), but there is no accounting on file. The Court ordered the accounting on 11/09/2023.

If the estate qualifies, the guardian or conservator may request an order dispensing with accountings pursuant to Probate Code section 2628. [See Attachment] This may often be accomplished by submission of a declaration (Judicial Council Form MC-030) ex parte.

The court investigator’s report has been received and recommends that the conservatorship continue. No appearance is required.

The next hearing for a Review of the Investigator’s Report will be held on 12/11/2025 at 9:00 a.m. in SB Dept 5.
